"The field MARC-DISMM/BAPIE1MARCRT-MRP_TYPE is defined as a required field" error

Hello,

We are using a custom transaction to create an article using upload spreadsheet file. The custom transaction calls the standard BAPI to create the article. The same upload file successfully creates an article in our QA environment, but not in our production system. The error message that I see is the logs is "The field MARC-DISMM/BAPIE1MARCRT-MRP_TYPE is defined as a required field; it does not contain an entry".

Both QA and PR systems are recently upgraded (to SAP_BASIS 740) and have the same code and patch level. There are few OSS notes related to this error, but since the issue is not occuring in QA system, I am not convinced to apply the note.

Can you please provide me some inputs?
